A Tribute To Glenn Yarbrough

I first heard Glenn Yarbrough singing “She” and “Baby The Rain Must Fall” when I was a teenager.  The timbre of his voice is the only one that I could ever associate with “The Honey Wind Blows”.  In fact, every song Glenn Yarbrough has sung could only be sung by him.  I’ve played his songs endlessly as I’ve weaved my stories. I’ve listened to his special whistle and unique voice and felt as though I was in flight as his “In This Wide World” describes.

Without Glenn Yarbrough and a few other special artists some of my novels would not have been completed and many of my short stories never written. Certainly, when I have had writer’s block or when I’ve felt the need for inspiration, I’ve played Glenn Yarbrough and been invigorated, motivated and enthused.  Yes, for many years he has been an inspiration and a companion through the long hours of writing and editing.

Thank you Glenn.  I’m sorry I was never able to see you in person but I count myself privileged to have known your songs and I will never say its "Time to Move On" when it comes to you.
